General information:

If you do everything that we have mentioned up, then you will have a loyal friend and a healthy dog. How you can see if your dog is healthy? His eyes must be clear when he barks, the bark must be also clear, his fur must look very shinny, his skin must be elastic and his nose wet. He must play, he must have a lot of energy, and he must be very active. Sometimes, between the masters and the dogs the communication is so important, is so necessary.

If your dog cries, you must see what he wants and if you consider that he has a health problem, go as soon as you can with him to the vet, because he can have a serious problem. His mouth must be pink, his respiration in a minute must be 20-30  inspirations and expirations, regulate, and the mouth open(not every time). When the temperature is very high, his mouth must be opened and his tongue outside his mouth.

Normally, the temperature of his body is 38-39 grades, and the heart moves are 110-120 when he is a puppy, 90-100 when is not young, but not old, too, and 70-80 when he is old. The heart moves to the dogs are not constant, so if you notice this, do not scare yourself, it is something normal.

If you notice something like:

-the dog refuses to eat 2 days
-it is normal that if he eats a little bit, to vomit. However, if he vomits several times, he could have gastritis or he could have been eating something toxic
-if his excrements are soft, he could have some parasites
-if his excrements are strong and hard several times, you must do him clysters
-if you notice something strange to his eyes, the change of the eyes color
-if you notice a strange smell to his eyes

You must go very fast to a vet, and when we say “fast” we do not mean after some days. You must think that if he has something, it is better for him not to suffer because of you because you do not have the necessary time to take care of him. If you are sick, you can go alone to the doctor, but he cannot, he depends on you.

Therefore do not hesitate for a healthy and happy dog, if you notice that your dog is not happy, it may be a sign that he is not healthy too.

Bad Breath in Dogs

The bad halitosis issue has many causes and here are some of them:

Infection of the soft tissues of the mouth is usually caused by bacterial infections (produced by air-born germs or non-air born germs), that spread a bad smell caused by putrefaction, smell that usually the owner’s sense. In some cases, aside from the bacterial aggression, there can also appear a mycosis type of infection that can bring complications to the clinical picture.

A thin bacterial coating at teeth level may appear because of the defective oral hygiene, with the same effect over the exhaled air. This new formed thin coating is dental plaque and you can remove it with the help of noninvasive procedures (thorough dental brushing).

The accumulation of mineral salt at the dental plaque level, a process called dental scald, that has severe repercussions on the dental health that is inflammatory reactions of the gums – decreasing the coverage area of the teeth – and even worse than that. It can have a disastrous effect on the joint of the tooth, which means it will start being mobile at first and the dog will end up losing it.

Modifications in gastric acidity by diminishing the hydrochloric acid secretion (dyspepsia) creates the opportunity for the germs to develop and thus initiation of the fermentation processes followed by elimination of bad-smelling gases that reach the environment and are sensed by the owner.

Because of the fact that halitosis may also produce health problems, a vet appointment is necessary in order to establish the exact causes of the disease. In some cases, the solution depends on the owner of the dog (like the case of persistent oral hygiene of the dog), and in other cases, the problem may require medical treatment from the vet.

Gum For Dogs

Chewing gum for a dog is not at all, what we know chewing gum to be. It has the shape of a bone and it is eatable leather delighting the dogs, cleaning their teeth, and refreshes their breath. Almost all dog owners end up complaining about the bad breath of the dog sooner or late. The reason is the same as in humans’ case: not brushing the teeth regularly. In fact, dog’s breath could be much fresher than humans’ because they do not eat stuff like garlic or onion, especially if they would brush their teeth twice a day, like us, humans do.

Healthy Dog Gums  To Identify Dental Dog Issues:

That is the easiest procedure ever, all you have to do is lift the dog’s upper lip and take a close look at its teeth. The plaque is a brown-reddish discoloration close to the gum line. Scald accumulations turn the healthy pink gums into red ones that start swelling. At this point, in the absence of a medical procedure, gingivitis is installing easily. This process generates a bad-smelling breath. Even worse than that, it can also lead to the destruction of the jaw and loss of teeth.

Allergy In Dogs

Like us, humans are allergic, so can your dog be. It can develop a certain allergy, and you will notice that the head might swell.

Alternatively, a number of lumps show up, lumps that may be painful to them when you touch them. We can even think about mentioning an acute allergy of the dog. Possible causes can vary from the sting of a bee, the pollen of a plant, to the daily food you feed the dog. Most allergies go away in a few hours, so you should not be alarmed. There are more severe cases, though, that may last longer, and can have a fever, or severe eructation. If the dog feels comfortable with it, you can also put ice on the lumps and rubbing the place gently or tapping it, or just simply holding the ice for while on the spot that hurts.

If the dog does not recover or you cannot treat him, you will have to see a specialist. Allergic Dermatitis is one of the most common skin conditions that can affect your dog or your cat. What you should know is that allergic dermatitis is a chronic skin disease; there is no cure, it can only be held under control and treated.

The term is made of the word “dermatitis” which means inflammation that is usually located in the skin, and “allergy”, which means sensitivity or physical reaction to certain substances. Therefore, Allergic Dermatitis means skin inflammation caused by exposing the skin to powerful substances called allergens. They can be inhaled, absorbed through the skin, or end up inside the organism through food.

Symptoms of the Allergic Dermatitis:

The first and most common sign is excessive scratching. Usually, dogs bite, chew, or scratch the affected area, and you will most likely notice red skin, fur loss, or even open wounds.

As far as cats and dogs are concerned, it can be difficult sometimes to make a difference between usual scratching, the one caused by flees, and the one caused by allergic dermatitis. If the itchiness persists, and there are no clues on whether flees are responsible for it, the answer is clear, your pet suffers from allergic dermatitis. The most frequent affected zones are the face, legs, and the area underarms. If you do not treat the disease in due time, it can take over the whole body and your pet will be in terrible pain. Some animals tend to scratch themselves because of their nature, they actually have no skin problems as the real reason for doing that, and you must have passed through that state yourself. If you notice anything weird, please get a vet appointment as soon as possible.

For dogs especially, Dermatitis means red areas on the face, dark spots or spots on the legs caused by the excessive licking, oily skin caused by chronic scratching. Cats do not get dermatitis as often as dogs do, but when they are infected, there are some other symptoms as well. Amongst them, you can notice small lumps on the skin, lip ulceration, fur loss, especially around the neck.

Allergic Dermatitis

Causes of Allergic Dermatitis:

Hereditary and genetic factors are the ones usually guilty for unleashing the disease. Sometimes, inhaling allergens like grass, pollen, cigarette smoke, feathers, dust, and wool may be the cause of the disease as well. If a human has such allergies, that person can go through many problems.

Treatment for Allergic Dermatitis:

Since it is not curable, you can only treat it, the medication prescribed for the disease will diminish the discomfort of your pet up to the neutralization of the symptoms. The best idea is for a vet to give your pet a medical prescription, as well as the guidance toward a place where you can purchase the medicines. The prescription is the best way to heal your pet. All you have to do after seeing the vet is going to a specialized vet pharmacy, and get your antibiotics, anti-fungus or whatever medication the vet said you should get.

Preventing Allergic In Dogs:

In order to avoid Allergic Dermatitis development on your pet, first, make sure that you do not expose your pet to allergens. Clean up the house in a manner that dust and pollen do not exist. After you take your pet for a walk, clean the paws, so you can remove anything that might have been stuck there.
